If you ride jeepneys most of the time, I strongly advice you read on. I'm writing this actual victim's account as a precaution with my sincerest prayers that this won't happen to you and any of your loved ones. The victim was a mere high school student. She wanted me to share her story.

| Ordinary bag as an accessory to a crime |
If a man with a large bag, (usually the bag used as hand carry
when you travel or any other props that can serve the purpose) sits beside you with the bag placed on his lap, be cautious. This
bag can be a tool or accessory to a crime. If part of the bag is already on your
lap, I suggest you change seats that instant or loudly and firmly tell the man
to put the bag down. Look at him intently and make it obvious that the bag seriously
bothers you. A lot.
Here is the monster's modus operandi:
He will intentionally let part of the bag settle on the victim's lap. If he sees that she doesn't mind, which is originally out of kindness from the victim, the pervert will continue with his plot. After a while, when the victim somewhat feels accustomed with the bag's weight and the bag's size covers most of the victim's upper body (critical part of the vile scheme), the maniac's hand will start roaming freely and the harassment is totally blocked from view to the rest of the passengers.
Unfortunately the HS student experienced this evil ploy. After feeling something weird and finding the maniac's hand near her bosom, too scared and too shocked to make
a scene, the girl only changed seats. The pervert acted like nothing happened. When she alighted from the jeep, here's another disturbing part -- the maniac followed
her.
