Throwback Post

Just want to share this post I wrote on August 24, 2011. It was published on my previous blog at WordPress as a contest entry, it didn't win but I remember how I wrote it. Just reading it makes me smile.

Note: Focus on the woman with white shirt/blouse, somewhat embracing a child/teen. They can be mother and child but I'm not exactly sure.

Every day is a risk; it is, if we truly LIVE. We risk everything for decent life- energy, safety, pride, dreams, our very whole being. Why? Why do we have courage, hope, faith and the spirit to survive this dog-eat-dog world with our conscience intact? The word is Love, as Sophocles said; it frees us from all the weight and pain of life. It’s proud of itself, it leaks out of us with the toughest security and makes as humanly humane. So even if the drive is a bumpy ride, or rerouting is ahead, or got stranded for awhile, even if tragic or depressing incidents occur; we still choose to move forward; we choose and hold on to LIFE. Respecting life is living it to the fullest; to the kindest that we can be. The trip might be long, exhausting, and sometimes heartbreaking; still, we pay the price. Knowing that the Lord loved us first, we faithfully trust HIS driving and the grandeur that awaits us. The journey will surely be worthwhile with the ones we love; even if all the best seats are taken. #
