Mangga sa Sta. Cruz

Marami kaming sinakyang jeep.

Quickies: Marian's Last Dance and Wedding Engagement

Marian and Dingdong Engagement snapshot

As I flip channels, I saw this one unexpectedly. It's on Marian Rivera's Saturday Show. I took a video of it but wasn't able to upload agad agad because of unreliable internet connection ikot ikot lang.

Dingdong Dantes brought out a ring and said, "I offer you this gift on your birthday, something that's beyond any material thing or tangible one. But I offer you myself, my love.”

A tearful Marian Rivera answered with kisses and offered her hand  to  Dingdong.

According to Dingdong, it will be Marian's LAST DANCE as Marian Rivera, 'coz  she'll soon  be the proud Mrs. Marian Dantes...

Congratulations Dingdong and Marian:) What wonderful news! May your future be a bright and happy one. So when's the wedding?.......:)

Love is a force more formidable than any other. It is invisible - it cannot be seen or measured, yet it is powerful enough to transform you in a moment, and offer you more joy than any material possession could.---Barbara de Angelis

There is no remedy for love but to love more.---Henry David Thoreau

Quickies: Need FREE Legal Advice? Watch This TV Program

Just this Friday afternoon I came across a very engrossing TV Program: Relasyon. Our television got  a blurry reception though the hosts are still recognizable. It's on channel 41. The program was hosted by Atty. Mel Sta. Maria, Family Law and Litigation Expert, and seasoned journalist, Ms. Gladys Luna-Lucas. (Celebrated Broadcast Journalist,Ms. Luchi Cruz-Valdes is also one of the anchors of the show)

It was more than informative. Though  not eye friendly, it didn't matter, all I cared about was to hear the discussion. Lots of intriguing questions on legalities which were answered briefly but succinctly and law terminologies made simple. Really educational and engaging! I wasn't even bothered by the bleary visuals! The audio was alright... thank heavens.

As the program progressed, it got even more entertaining because of their segment "Ito Ang Buhay Ko" where in they feature a story from a letter sender and eventually given legal advice.  Topic that day was about harassment in the work place.

Another intellectual joined in and gave her two cents worth- Ms. Pia Nazareno-Acevedo, Performance Management Expert and Life and Health Coach. Ms. Pia's such a vivacious speaker. I love their POWER team!!!

In a short span of time, I learned something about interstate proceeding, deed of sale, holographic will, why the government should abolish estate tax and a lot more!

Quickies: Thursday Soundtrack; Defying Gravity

How's Thursday treating you? Hope it's fine, mine's okay. I like days like this- bed weather, sarap. My sis made me see a video and my day just got better! If your day's a bit rough, relax, go see this video! It's time to trust your instincts, close your eyes and leap! It's time to try, defying gravity. Sharing the good vibes!

Here's the live version. Be inspired. (video courtesy of YouTube)

Defying Gravity. It is the signature song from the musical Wicked, composed by Stephen Schwartz, originally recorded by Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth on November 10, 2003, and released on December 16, 2003. It is mostly a solo sung by the main character of the show, Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West), with two small duets at the beginning and in the middle of the song between Elphaba and her friend Glinda, and a chorus part in the end in which the citizens of Oz sing. It was performed on the BBC television programme 'I'd Do Anything,' and as a result the song charted at no. 60 on the official UK Singles chart.

This song was also used to wake up astronauts aboard space shuttle mission STS-131 in April 2010 for astronaut Dorothy Metcalf-Lindenburger in honor of the day's planned extra-vehicular activity. (wikipedia.org). So cool , right?

I'm an 'Idina Menzel' fan! This American singer-songwriter, actress and Tony Awardee is PHENOMENAL! She gave justice to this song. She 'let it go,' gave it all, and she soared high! REALLY HIGH. But not alone, she took the audience with her:)

It was a little hard to find the lyrics so here, I transcribed this Idina Menzel version, enjoy it after the jump! click read more:)

The Mousetrap

The mouse, chicken, pig and cow: A Parable. Illustration by Kalikotpepot
The mouse, chicken, pig and cow. A Parable.

A colleague told me about this story, I really enjoyed it, and now I'm sharing it:

THE MOUSETRAP

A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package. “What food might this contain?” the mouse wondered. He was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.

Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning: “There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!”

The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, “Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it.”

The mouse turned to the pig and told him, “There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!” The pig sympathized, but said, “I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured you are in my prayers.”

The mouse turned to the cow and said, “There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!” The cow said, “Wow, Mr. Mouse. I’m sorry for you, but it’s no skin off my nose.”

So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer’s mousetrap alone.

The Night is Dark and Full of...

GOT gif
Terrors of the Night
GIF credit: mtv.com

This post has nothing to do with Game of Thrones. Only with terrors. Not the "winter is coming" type of terror which I've yet to see in the upcoming seasons or read on R.R. Martin's books. It's more of 'dead alive' thing.

Don't be frightened, I bet you've experienced this too...click READ MORE:)

Throwback Post

Just want to share this post I wrote on August 24, 2011. It was published on my previous blog at WordPress as a contest entry, it didn't win but I remember how I wrote it. Just reading it makes me smile.

Note: Focus on the woman with white shirt/blouse, somewhat embracing a child/teen. They can be mother and child but I'm not exactly sure.
